DECAFFEINATED COFFEE
Decaffeinated coffee remains a popular option that many customers like to have available to serve to customers that prefer this to mainstream espresso based coffees.
Various methods can be used to decaffeinate coffee, and Lincoln & York can provide their clients with decaff coffee by several of these processes.
Decaffeination is usually performed on unroasted (green) beans, and starts with the steaming of the beans followed by various rinsing processes to remove the caffeine.
The EU standard is that green (unroasted) decaffeinated coffee should have a residual caffeine content of max 0.1% by weight.
Arabica coffees normally contains about half the caffeine of Robustas.
