Since they founded the Company in 1992, Lincoln & York’s joint owners (James Sweeting and Simon Herring) have spent a great deal of time in coffee growing communities in over 20 nations developing contacts, understanding and long term relationships. Whilst at the same time building our roasting and packing business in northern Lincolnshire by continued investment in people, plant and buildings – Leading to the opening of our brand new factory, offices and training centre – 25000 sqft opened in January 2009.

James and Simon share a passion for coffee. In the early 90’s they agreed to leave their corporate coffee employers and set up a coffee roasting plant in Brigg, Lincolnshire. Within 6 years, volumes reached the plant’s capacity and the Company moved to brand new premises at Elsham Wold – some 5 miles away.

The strategy of combining excellent coffee sourcing and roasting with focused business development for private label customers in all sectors has been core to Lincoln & York – and remains its primary focus.
